WHERE IS IT
Matamata, North Island, New Zealand: The set is located about 2 hours from Auckland and 1 hour from Rotorua. It can be reached by car or with organised tours.
The Alexander farm, on which the set is built, is still a working farm.
WHAT TO EXPECT
The tour lasts about 2 hours on foot. You will see the original 44 Hobbit holes, manicured gardens, the Mill on the pond and the Green Dragon Inn.
The tour concludes with a complimentary drink at the Green Dragon Inn. Visits are guided only.
